  •
  • PARTICIPATION: All anglers must have or share a canoe or kayak. A canoe or kayak is the only transportation allowed on the water. Piggybacking on powerboat or use of other motorized craft (i.e., jetski) is not allowed.   Wadefishing from canoe or kayak is allowed, fishing from pier or jetty is not allowed.
  •
  • CAPTAINS MEETING: No Captains Meeting, once you have signed up and paid you are eligible to start fishing at designated time. Anglers can register the day of the tournament from 5:00am to 8:00am at the County Park.
  •
  • FISHING BOUNDARIES: All Public Texas Inshore Coastal Waters. Offshore waters, including Jetties, are considered Out of Bounds. In addition, all fishing locations must be waters that can be legally paddled in accordance with either Local, State or Federal Jurisdiction. Any water which you have to get out of your craft and go over an obstacle (i.e., Weirs, Boat Barriers, Geotubes, etc.) are considered Out of Bounds. If in doubt, check with one of the Tournament Officials before the Tournament has officially started.
  •
  • LAUNCH: Launch must be a public launch. Launching from Private Property is not permitted. Doing so will result in disqualification. Any ramp fees, etc are the responsibility of the Angler.
  •
  • FISHING METHODS: All fish must be caught with use of rod and reel (hook and line). Anglers may fish with only one rod at a time, i.e., no staking rods on the beach or trolling with multiple rods.
  •
  • FISHING HOURS: 5:30am till 2:30pm This means you can launch and start fishing at 5:30am. NOTE that even though the official fishing hours show 2:30pm, this is the time the tournament is officially over and you must have weighed in or be in weigh-in line prior to or at this time.
  •
  • WEIGH-IN TIME: 12:30pm till 2:30pm. You can start weighing in your fish at 12:30pm at the san Luis Pass County Park Marlin Pavilion. However all anglers must have either weighed-in or be in weigh-in line prior to 2:30pm. Once the official Tournament Clock reads 2:30pm, the Tournament is considered closed and no one will be allowed to weigh-in after that time. Any angler in line at 2:30pm will be allowed to weigh-in.
  •
  • FISH CONDITION: All fish entered must comply with TP&W regulations. Do not bring undersize fish to the scale. If you have an oversize red which you would like to weigh that is OK, but note oversize reds are not eligible to be entered in the tournament.  All entered fish shall also be in fresh, edible condition. Any frozen, crab eaten, mutilated fish will not be allowed.
